Getting curious?

A doula is someone who supports another person through a major life transition — and birth is one of the most transformative of all. A birth doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides guidance, information, and nonjudgmental support in whatever way you need, helping you feel seen, heard, and cared for throughout pregnancy and birth.

Doulas exist to fill gaps in our healthcare system, and to bring back the kind of continuous care and support that communities once offered birthing and postpartum people.

Research shows that continuous labor support — especially from a doula — is associated with a range of positive birth outcomes, including lower rates of cesarean birth and other medical interventions such as inductions, epidurals, forceps, and vacuum-assisted delivery. Studies also show that doula support can contribute to shorter labors, reduced use of pain medication, and more positive feelings about the birth experience overall.

But beyond the research, it's really about feeling safe and supported in your body, having someone who understands your preferences, and being able to make decisions with clarity and confidence.

As your doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I’m here to help you understand your options, ask informed questions, and access evidence based resources that feel supportive to your needs and values. During labor, I offer comfort and coping support through movement, breath, touch, positioning, and a steady, reassuring presence during moments of intensity or uncertainty. I also support your partner or chosen support person so you feel held by a connected team. After birth, I create space for reflecting on your experience and offer postpartum check-ins and support as you transition into this new chapter.

A doula doesn’t give medical advice or make decisions for you. We don’t speak for you without your consent. We certainly don’t replace your partner. And we cannot guarantee a specific type of birth or outcome.

There's no one "right" way to do this. I support all kinds of families, all kinds of births, and all kinds of experiences: home birth, birth center birth, and hospital birth; medicated and unmedicated birth; planned or emergency cesarean; VBAC; twin birth; water birth; epidural birth. I support solo parents, queer families, blended families, first-time parents, and those who've done this before. You're all welcome here — a doula meets you exactly where you are.

Whenever feels right for you — many people reach out in the first or second trimester so we have plenty of time to get to know each other, but (as long as you are still pregnant!) it's genuinely never too late to ask. If you're already close to your due date, or even already in labor, reach out anyway. I'll always try to help however I can, even if that just means pointing you toward the right resources.

I have completed all requisites for certification with Carriage House Birth. Certification is expected in late summer 2026.

Get in touch and I'll walk you through my current rate and availability. I offer a sliding scale for families for whom the full fee isn't accessible.
